Last week will NOT be missed...

I have studied until my brain is numb. My brown and ecru zebra print sheets are speckled with text books, pens, and grading criteria for 3 separate exit exams – they are NOT multiple choice. So much in my life is on hold until I complete the exams – only 8 days left and then life can go on. I can step onto the baseball field as the asst. coach for Jackson’s baseball team, I can complete my research thesis, I can get this lump cut out of my boob, I can finish my clinical time, I can call my friends and laugh – there will be wine lots of wine.

I have cleaned up bodily fluids (from both ends) from both of my children – 3 consecutive days – only myself to blame. Hey what can I say? I was trying to teach them to share – stomach viruses included…not really.

My room is still a mess and my hair looks even worse, ask me if I care. I think I have had mascara under my eyes all day – Mark has called me “sexy” every time he sticks his head in the bedroom door to see if I am alive (head in the books, remember?) – he is silly, it makes me smile.

I worked this week – well, until I puked and found my way home – the kids DID learn to share, they gave the virus right back - ughhhhh. I taught on Friday, it was pure insanity. 2 people in labor, 2 inductions that morning, 3 c-sections and a post-partum floor full of recovering ladies – me and 8 students running around like chickens with our heads cut off – galaxy blue chickens – a rather pretty scrub color.

The kids are in bed – I am headed that way – for at least 8 hours – I’ve earned it!

Any Questions?
