Thursday

Lucky, I tell ya!

Almost 2am and I’m getting settled in the bed. I have been home from work for about 30 minutes – my house still smells of the fabulous spaghetti I cooked about 9 hours ago even though Mark has erased all other evidence that dinner was cooked and served – no dishes in the sink, no crumbs on the floor, leftovers tucked away in a Tupperware dish on the second shelf of the fridge – they don’t make husbands any better.

I’m off tomorrow and cannot wait to spend time with my kiddos – what perfect little people they are. Under her sassiness, his impertinence, her drama, his outbursts – are two of the most amazing children put on this Earth. My cup runneth over and over and over. I’m not sure when, but I’ve come to learn that it is possible to laugh when Greer spills her juice, that her hair will grow at its own pace, Jackson’s awkward hands can throw a ball perfectly, and his tender feelings are part of his gift – they don’t make sons and daughters any better.

And at the end of the day, I realized that they darn sure don’t make mommas any luckier.

Any Questions?
