This morning – like so many mornings recently – I was so tired and didn’t want to get out of bed – kinda wish I could have stay there…well, for about 2 more weeks to be exact – remember: it fits me! Against my will, I threw back the covers – and jumped in the shower – had myself and 2 kids ready to hit the road in about 35 minutes – almost a world record, I’m sure.
We drove to Dallas – Jackson had an appointment – routine follow-up at the Endocrinologist (she works on the hormones and such) – I was actually worry free – well at least about the doctors appointment that was a few hours ahead – instead I worried about the basket of socks I need to match (how many will be loners – again), my sweet hubby who is working so hard in school (making near perfect grades time and time again), the DirectTv box in my room that cuts off at will, - you know the usually mom things.
The appointment, as I suspected, was uneventful – a quick lunch with the gang (me and the kiddos, my parents, and Jeremy and his momma {Jackson’s MeMe}) – Babe’s Chicken in Carrolton is so amazingly great--- in a home cookin’ kinda way. The kids played Marco/Polo in the backseat on the way home – Greer counted… "one, two, three, four, five, nineteen, twenty – here I come, I mean… MARCO" – Jackson replies with the obvious answer, "POLO" – she tags him and then they trade … he starts to count but actually saying aloud each number between one and twenty – he’s my patient child.
I made my way to the bedroom when we arrived home – I longed for a quick afternoon nap – it didn’t happen. So I lay here now – ready to get a goodnight’s sleep – Jackson is already in his bed snoozing and Greer, as usual, fights the nightly separation and has come in my room about 4 times already – I feel the need to offer her a little “inspiration” (on the booty) to stay in the bed. I sigh – this is it, I’m telling myself right now – this is what life is all about. My family – me holding their hearts, them holding mine – does it get any better than this? Something tells me it does!
Any Questions?
