Flighty Friday

The house is clean until I blink and then it is a mess again, the laundry is neatly folded and put away until I blink and then it is piled up once again, the dishes are done, so squeaky clean, until I blink and the sink is full on both sides once again – I’m pretty sure that this never stops. Nothing like the daily stresses and strains.


I look beyond the dust, dishes, and daily duties – I see two beautiful children, an amazing husband, a promising career – the blessings go on and on. God is good and I am grateful. I think about where I have been and where I am going – wow, how things change.

We are still making plans for our future – wherever that might be – it’s looking like the Dallas area will be our next home. The nurse practitioner jobs are in abundance in that neck of the woods and one in particular has caught my eye – paperwork and politics make the employment process far longer than I had hoped – patience is not one of my virtues. I’m ready for this next chapter in our life to get started, all the while reminding myself to live in the “now” – the small things are not so small and from what I have learned from housework alone, so much happens in the blink of an eye!
